You should know why lady. They have no work ethic and no responsibility but they're not to blame. You know what I'm saying, right?
I know...
Don't pretend like you don't know. This is absolutely normal. Do you ever notice that whenever you send something from overseas, the letter is always open when it gets to you? My gf always tell me that it is open already when it gets to her all the time. Not once, but all the time. You have been overseas before, why act like you don't know anything??? Are you trying to be cute? lolz...
I've never experienced any problems at all. Lucky me.
Of course, it works, more or less, like snail mail. Have you ever thought that the mailing system works the same way to email? Probably your package was filtered, and it's currently in junk folder.
abc, I know and I have always known about this but I have never complained a word. Now that I can't stand anymore, so that is y I posted here. :p
Tharum, you are being so optimistic!!! how can my package be filtered? I clearly wrote the address.
That's what you are here for, Kalyan, to fix the problem(s) and to make the system transparent.
I concur with Vanak. You are going to the "Public Administrator-General" (in the same sense as attorney-general) in the future government (before you silently grab the PM post). Learn to act like one from now, and don't let us down. We want the problem fixed, and we want it soon. Please, we totally depend on you to save us now, Ms Prime Minister (Ooops, sorry Ms PAG).
Thanks for your comments guys! However, one person can't fix such a problem, no matter how strong or smart that person is! It is all the commitment from everyone that help contribute to the change. So, don't just throw the sheep on me!
I'm quite lucky too. So far, I only lost one last package sent to Cambodia.
I've got an idea. If you are to send a letter to Cambodia, make 5 copies of that letter, and mail them in 5 different envelops. :P
It happened once to me. But not when I send to Cam but send from Cam. NO idea and never wish to ask why. And abc ah.. you are such a pressure lolz....
Ho ho ho hold on!!!
I know what the problem is.
If you want your letters delivered 100% of the times, the people who received your letters from the delivery post-office guy (same guy for one area)should give him some morning-coffee or morning-kuyteav money (2000 riels???).
Trust me. My mom does it all the times or she'd never get my mails.
Good luck to ALL.
From Santa
Just to add a little bit more...
With morning-coffee money, the delivery time is FAST and FURIOUS (j/k). After your mail recepient give him money a couple times, the post-office guy, whenever he sees your mails (to the same address where he used to get money), will skip his breakfast to deliver it as fast and greatly satisfying as you ever want it to be.
Trust me...Money is the Key.
That's why we work hard for it.

Hi all,
I also have experience that before and I have been seeing the problem since I was at Primary school. So, Plz do not to clash each other on this issue. And there are still some more headaches and Plz consider that need to be solved. And those things are our young generations’ application to deal with it, isn’t it? And they are waiting and standing in front of us. But what can we do then?
As kalyan mentioned even the people are the smartest, powerful and billion. He/she could not solve those issues by themselves. What do we need is teamwork.
In addition, I think that before we can do it we also need to find out what are the causes or root of that trouble first.

After reading all these entries, I wonder where you all are from. If you live in Cambodia before or have any idea what Cambodia is like, this should not be so surprising. Post office service, passport service, etc... all the same. In fact, these are considered small problems. Small in comparison to all those big things that I dare not mention. And to those who keep saying that we must find the root of the cause...well, the truth is, say all you like, but you must NEVER expect anything to happen in the next 10 years. We know how to fix the problems and where the root of the problems lie, but we could not do anything. We are just powerless, really. fyi, I live in Cambodia, but now I'm in Canberra for study.
And as to Ms K being the PM, well, look, sometimes it is better not to expect too much, don't you think? There are a lot of variables to become a PM, and having a Master's degree aint mean nothing much nowadays. Anyway, good luck with your PM candidacy. I'm sure I will still be around then to vote.
hey yan
ur web is ur post office
u can show about ur letter or some thing that u want to ur friends...same me I like to do that..
I know we country is very bad service about post office..!
however, if u want send something to ur home u can send it with ur friends or by air lane, air letter, (no air gun..lolz../joke lolz
I must be the latest one to make comment on this. The main problem behind this issue is the system. I am not going to suggest an immediate solution, but I am trying to say something from a perspective of a student, an academic one. First, we have to ask if there is a workable and transparent system in place in Cambodia. As I know there is a postal law already adopted and promulgated. I am not sure if a system of receiving and solving a complaint from senders was introduced in the law, if not, the system is flawed and we need to fix it. If yes, then the question is the enforcement of the system or the using of the system. If someone wants to change the way we have experienced (losses of packages or letters), take an action to eliminate this corrupted habit. Losses of packages have occurred in developed countries, of course, there are different ways of losses, but how to solve it is the system of claiming back or reclaiming the lost one. Another important one is the remedies including the sanction of the civil servant when finding out that she or he committied such an illegal act. This will be in the branch of the Public Administration. Therefore, there must be a workable and transparent system in place for users. I dont need to mention a corruption law. I believe that only when we work together to solve the problems, then it can work out. One person cannot solve every thing, I agreed. Cheer.
Sovanny,
First and foremost, I don't think the tone of the conversations in here is in anyway of a unfriendly fist-to-fist nature. We just described about the GREAT service our post-office provided (oh wait...i agree this one is sarcastic).:)
Hmm...i got kinda sad to read this BBC article that i want to share with everyone here. Here's the link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/7081720.stm
And if you want any fruitful discussions. The owner of this email (M.Hun@bristol.ac.uk) will be the one to converse with. At least he knows the people who have power to turn all these saddening stories to happier endings.
Best wishes,
Santa
Thanks for all ur comments.
Cheasoth, I don't mean to be the PM or sth. it is just everyone else is saying. I don't say that having an MPA from the Maxwell school in the US can be the PM. and I don't wish to be . I am too small to be one.
I'm not so worried about opened letters or missing postal items, but I'm damn worried about shifting border demarcations!
Kalyan, you might be small physically, but your brain and your intellect are not small. Remember, adversity can help you succeed. Should I say focus and focus now!
yeah, try to get a receipt when you send, if u got any problem, scan and send me the receipt, they have post office at the airport, i can check for you.
it should not have any problem, try once more.
khmerbirds
it is not the way it should be. Cambodia needs to improve its postal service. We don't want our/future generation to continue having this same problem.
Ms.K can take the lead for this improvement.

How long have you been living in Cambodia? How much do you know about it? Y you have to criticize YOUR OWN COUNTRY in public like this? Worst or fanstastic it's your home anyway!!! Right ...Have fun in US..
hi anonymous,
Because Cambodia is my country that is why I am concerned about this problem. I am criticizing here to get reactions and feedbacks and probably good recommendations from people who may think of any. and as you see here there are a lot of good ideas, but still it is hard to take the leading step. However, if we keep being silence accepting all the facts, even bad facts, then nothing can be improved.
Cambodians need to raise their voices on what they think about the country. It is our country, that is why we need to talk about it, admire it if it is good and criticize it if it is bad so that we can find out the way to solve the problem. We can't just ignore it.
Thanks for your ideas. and again no one's ideas are wrong or unacceptable. please feel free to throw out ur ideas here ;-) I look forward to hear more from you all.
Cheers!
I think you send via express like EMS-express. When i send sth home, i use it.
Dear Anonymous,
When it comes to business, it’s not personal. You should expect criticism and complaints and there is nothing wrong with that. And as the economy has gone global, you cannot hide and you’ve got to deliver; otherwise, who wants to do business with you.
Look at Toyota, for example, customers had complained about its oil gel problems. They told the customers to bring the cars back for repair, free of charge. As Toyota puts it, “We cannot be successful and profitable unless we fix our problems and unless our customers are happy.”
Another example, look at Ford. Its sales have been declined for the past years because people have complained about the quality issues. Mr. Bill Ford himself stepped down as CEO last year and had appointed someone else to be CEO. Its quality has improved. It has nothing to do with one’s own country in public or private.
If you do not see criticism as an opportunity to improve your product or your service, then you are not ready to compete with the world economy.
I do want to ask 2 Qs only.
1. How much improvement you see have been happening after your criticism?
2. What is the point of gathering together to critiize in this blog?
3. Now if you don't accept the bad facts,do you really think somthing can be done? I think you are being westernized too much...
thanks Vanak!

1. I guess your definition of "improvement" is different from mine. Well, if you mean that the postal service is improving, I would say I don't expect to see a lot of improvement here. What I am trying to say is that I expect to see a lot of improvement in critical thinking, in terms of generating interests in common issues that people take it for granted. However, at least I can say there is some little improvement in terms of raising awareness and reminding people about this issue. Some stats about my blog's number of visitors can say that at least I have reached out to some people in cambodia.
2. Again, my blog is viewed by people around the world, esp those in Cambodia. I hope my words can make people think about it and probably there is someone who is on the process of making the change and see that there are people who are supporting him or her. Also, it is my blog, my place where I can express my ideas. So if not here, where else should I say???? As you can see, so far this post has the highest number of comments, and esp the most interesting ones. I am glad about it.
3. Today I just did some presentation on performance management in public sector and I raised this example in the class. Everyone was surprised esp my professor. SEE? the world is learning bout it now. I know for now nothing much can be done. Remember, we need to take an initial step to make a 1000 steps towards the destination. Without the initial step, there is no second, third and as a result you will never reach your goal. What I am pointing out it that. First, you need to identify the problem, and you are right we need to accept the bad facts, but not that just accepting it and ignore it. I know I alone can't do anything but at least I can raise people's awareness. I can help spread the words, seeking for better suggestions from the educated people. I hope I have made a difference, and if I cam really capable enough, in the future I will surely make my second, third or even the final step to really make the difference, that is achieving the goal of improving reliability of Cambodia's public postal service.
I hope this is not too long to read.
Oh by the way, you asked me 3, not 2 :-)
would you mind telling your name? Be who you are because here nothing is dangerous jus to reveal your identity :-)
Thanks for your great questions. I really appreciate it. I know that I haven't answered that well. So I am open to other readers who may have greater answers than mine.
cheers!!!
Kalyan, I totally agree with your definition of improvement here and you are completely right. Improvement in human thinking is an initial important step and putting it into practice is another. I myself hope that we as a bunch can make a better change and improvement... I do like such critical debates. Keep going...
From Japan
I really appreciat your answer. I will wait and see the fruitful results of your effort. Am against you for this criticism but i'll help you to improve CAMBODIA...Good Bye for now.
Such a long and interesting debate. Well, I'm glad that everyone's striving for the improvement of Cambodia.
Personally, I agree with you, Kalyan, that criticism helps foster improvement. However, to be fair to the anonymous, along with such criticism, practical actions need to be done, for criticism alone won't make any difference. The political situation is obviously reflective, I guess.
So well, I'll wait and see how much you guys, as Cambodians, can do to help our country. Remember my dear friends: ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS.
From Camby!
